A Chartered Civil Engineer since 1970 JEFFERY SMITH has worked on structural aspects of buildings of all kinds. He has worked in the consultancy, contracting and government sectors. Jeffery is author of 'UNDERPINNING and repair of subsidence damage' published in 1994. He has lectured on subsidence and building defects to mature architects at the University of Cambridge and at The Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London. Jeffery Smith is a Member of the Institution of Civil Engineers, a Fellow of the Association of Building Engineers and a Member of the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings.

IVONNE BARNEWOLD BEng graduated from the University of Cooperative Education in Saxony in 2002. She has lived and worked in London since 2003.At JSA Ivonne handles much of the structural design and drawing work as well as site inspections concerning alteration works on existing houses.
